"Days Before Rodeo" is the name of Travis Scott's second mixtape, serving as a prequel to his next project “Rodeo.” This poster features lyrics from the fourth track on the mixtape titled “Drugs You Should Try It.” It is a song about letting go of inhibitions, risks and overcoming struggles in life. In the song, drugs is used as a metaphor for a friend, a partner, a fulfilling entity, a new experience, etc. Travis Scott encourages the listener to try out “drugs” if it feels right, as a means of escape or release from any sort of mental anguish or stress. He speaks of the feeling of being lost, surrounded by darkness and despair, but then suddenly finding something that can be that magical glimmer of hope or light in the darkness. The chorus explores this idea further, suggesting that the good times that follow come in the form of new experiences, feeling alive and taking risks that you wouldn't have taken before. The later verses try and more concretely comment on the experience of being “under the influence” and the possibilities of what you can feel and experience. Despite the lyrical focus on drugs and substance use, Travis Scott's song also obliquely speaks about self-growth, hope, and finding something to live for even in the darkest of times.
