This is a poster for Red Hood, an antihero who was Batman’s former Robin, Jason Todd. Robin became Red Hood after being tortured and killed by the Joker, and his resurrected as a violent vigilante. Once he comes face to face with the man who killed him, Red Hood brutally beats and kidnaps the Joker in revenge. He then confronts Batman for not saving him. They fight, and enter the building where Jason is keeping the Joker. The fight ends with Jason holding Batman at gunpoint, revealing that he has the Joker hostage. Jason says, “Tell me what bothers you more. That your greatest failure has returned from the grave, or that I’ve become a better Batman than you?” He tosses Batman a gun and gives him an ultimatum – he will execute the Joker himself unless Batman shoots him. Batman admits he has thought constantly about torturing and killing the Joker but will not, fearing he will not stop killing if he kills even once. Jason is broken, though he still loves him and has forgiven Batman for failing to save him, Jason is upset and angry that Batman let Joker live after what he did to him. Batman refuses to shoot and drops the gun, causing Jason to shoot at him. Batman throws a Batarang, which jams and destroys Jason's pistol. Red Hood is defeated and goes into hiding, leaving Batman’s life once again and even more broken than he was before the confrontation. Red Hood is one of my favorite comic book characters, and the movie “Under the Red Hood” is one of my favorite comic book films. I made this poster by taking photographs of a Red Hood action figure and creating a design using the photos. One side shows his damaged helmet, and the other in pristine condition.
