"The Color Violet" is the 4th song to appear on Tory’s “Alone At Prom” album. Tory sings about heartbreak and tells us a story about a woman whom he loves, but she appears to not share the same feelings. He says he gives this girl his heart, and rather than taking care of his heart, this girl broke it. Tory is singing about the pain he feels after being rejected. Driving 90 mph anywhere is dangerous, and when in the rain this becomes even more dangerous. Tory is evidently distraught and he is willing to risk his life in order to just feel something.
